Schedule of Examinations

All blood extraction will be done in the morning after your admission. Twelve hours fasting is a pre-requisite for accurate blood test results. As such, you will be instructed to take. "nothing by mouth" beginning after dinner. Other tests that need 12 hour fasting are : Ultrasound of the abdomen , UGI Endoscopy.

Preparation for some procedures will start early because of the limited time frame and because of the many other patients similarly ( for x-rays, ECG, blood test, etc.). It is not usual for nurses/ nurses aides To start "prepping" you at 5:00 to 6:00 AM. In most situation , the early morning prep involves an enema to clean your intestines prior to gastrointestinal x-ray.

All ECU plans include a treadmill stress test. This requires you to walk or jog on a moving treadmill as part of your cardiovascular evaluation. A jogging outfit with a front opening and rubber shoes will be required for this test. As a general rule, the treadmill stress test is not done within (2) hours of food intake. To avoid unnecessary postponements of the procedure, please inquire about your schedule if you must take any snacks/ meals not scheduled by the hospital staff.

For Ophthalmic examination, bring your reading eyeglasses and /or your double vision eyeglasses. For FEMALE executive check-up, please schedule your ECU during non-menstrual days.
