Why Executive Check-up is needed?
Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital offers Executive Check-up programs for busy executives who lead a stressful life. The plan combines a comprehensive history and physical examination with advanced screening test. Custom tailored diagnostic evaluations, recommended by experienced physicians who are focused on promoting wellness and prevention and thorough medical check-ups and physical examinations that help detect health problem before they become severe.
Pre – Admission St age
It is important that you see the Executive Check-up Coordinator ( ECC) at the Administrative Office ( First floor, Main Building) before admission. The ECC offers information regarding the program, assists and coordinates with the departments concerned ( including Admitting Section for your reservations) your Attending Physician and other Consultants to help make sure that all Executive Check – up needs are met.
Admission (Check in Time)
You are encouraged to check in between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday. There may be a waiting period to make your room reservation or schedule your examinations. We would like your understanding on this matter as rooms may not be immediately available or other patients may require immediate admission /examination emergency situation. Please be assured that all efforts will be exerted to provide you with your reserved accommodation as soon as possible. Please understand that delay in check -out by the patient previously occupying the room assigned to you may delay your own check-in. For accounts charged to companies with credit arrangements with CDH, a Letter of Authorization (LOA) is required for submission upon admission for proper billing and collection.
Attending Physician
You can choose your own private physician or request the ECC to recommend one. You attending physician will refer you to different consultants to further assess your medical conditions if deemed necessary . consultations with different specialist can be arranged by our Attending Physician, by resident doctors on duty or by the nurse on duty. Your attending physician will interpret all the results of your tests and prepare the medical report portfolio.
Duration of Check-up
The duration of the Executive Check-up packages vary. ECU Plan D requires a two –night stay, ECU Plan C needs an overnight stay and Plan A and B may require an overnight stay or the executive may opt to have it on an outpatient basis. We will exert all efforts to discharge you early. However as general rule , please do not expect to be finished earlier than the previously mentioned time frames.
Schedule of Examinations
All blood extraction will be done in the morning after your admission. Twelve hours fasting is a pre-requisite for accurate blood test results. As such, you will be instructed to take. “ nothing by mouth” beginning after dinner. Other tests that need 12 hour fasting are : Ultrasound of the abdomen , UGI Endoscopy.
Preparation for some procedures will start early because of the limited time frame and because of the many other patients similarly ( for x-rays, ECG, blood test, etc.). It is not usual for nurses/ nurses aides
To start “prepping “ you at 5:00 to 6:00 AM. In most situation , the early morning prep involves an enema to clean your intestines prior to gastrointestinal x-ray.
All ECU plans include a treadmill stress test. This requires you to walk or jog on a moving treadmill as part of your cardiovascular evaluation. A jogging outfit with a front opening and rubber shoes will be required for this test. As a general rule, the treadmill stress test is not done within (2) hours of food intake. To avoid unnecessary postponements of the procedure, please inquire about your schedule if you must take any snacks/ meals not scheduled by the hospital staff.
For Ophthalmic examination, bring your reading eyeglasses and /or your double vision eyeglasses.
For FEMALE executive check-up, please schedule your ECU during non-menstrual days.
Additional Examinations
In some cases, your physician may order certain diagnostic examination which are not included in the package ,but which he/she feels necessary for a more accurate assessment of your medical condition. Please feel free to ask your physician to explain/ discuss any additional procedure with you.
Additional Charges
All recommended additional consultations or examinations not included on your ECU plan will be charged to your account as additional charges. These charges may be given to you at discounted rates.
Schedule of Consultations
You will be seen by our assigned physician on duty or by the physician you requested within the time of their regular clinic hours. Although consultants may see you in your room during their rounds, most will request that you be brought to their clinics. There are no special clinic hours reserved by consultants for ECU patients alone.
You will be scheduled for consultation along with other out-patients seeking consultation on that particular day. As such, there will some waiting time per consultant as you wait for your turn to be seen .
A nursing aide will accompany you to the Consultants’ clinics. In case a consultant is unable to see you, a clinic visit may be scheduled on an out-patient basis after your discharge.
Discharge Stage
The attending physician will order your discharge through the Nursing Unit upon completion of all examinations. You may settle your bills at the Billing Section ( First floor, Main Building). Payments are accepted in cash or through major credit cards. For company sponsored accounts, discharge passes / clearance shall be issued by the Billing Office.
You can get your ECU portfolio ( Executive Check-up results) from your attending physician’s, usually after three to four (3-4) working days from discharge.
